  • WashCo Fair and Event Center - Some have said that the reference to a Fair can't be in the name.  I strongly disagree. After all a major part of the controversy that has festered in recent years has been to save the Fair.  I don't think that the word "Fair" in the official name will cost many votes on a bond issue -- if its associated with Event Center.  I believe the suggested name above gives the location as well as indicates a place where the Fair AND other events are held.  To me WashCo Fair and Event Center sounds "less country", if that's what we're worried about, than the word Fairground.
  • On your suggested name of Westside Civic Park and Conference Center. Would there be a problem with what does "Westside" really mean?  Personally I would prefer EVENT rather than CONFERENCE Center because EVENT is more inclusive and it is a shorter word.  Certainly there will be more "events" scheduled than "conferences". Examples:  High school graduation, an RV Rally, a rodeo are events not conferences but to me a conference could also be an event.
  • Here is a suggestion for a new name for the revitalized fairgrounds site: Tualatin Valley Commons Or for short "The Commons" Another variation on the suggestion would be "The Washington County Commons"
